Strawberry Shortcake Trifle

Strawberry Sauce 

  • 2 Quarts Fresh Wish Farms Strawberries, chopped
  • 1  1/2 Cup Sugar
  • Juice of 1/2 of a Lime
  • 3 Tablespoons Cornstarch

Cream Cheese Whipped Topping

  • 24 oz Cream Cheese (3 packages)
  • 16 oz Whipped Topping, thawed
  • 1 Cup Sugar

Cake Layer

  • 1 Whole Angel Food Cake, cut into large cubes


Strawberry Sauce

  • Combine chopped strawberries, sugar, lime juice, and cornstarch in a small bowl and toss until ingredients are combined and the strawberry juice begins to thicken

Cream Cheese Whipped Topping

  • In a mixing bowl, whip together cream cheese (best at room temp) and sugar
  • Once well combined, fold in whipped topping

Trifle Assembly

  • Start by adding about 1/3 of the cubed angel food cake to the bottom of the trifle dish
  • Add large dollops of your cream cheese whipped topping (about 1/3 of the batch) on top of the angel food cake layer and gently spread
  • Scoop about 1/2 of your strawberry sauce and pour over previous layer
  • Using the reminder of the cubed angel food cake, create a second cake layer
  • Top the angel food cake with the remaining cream cheese whipped topping and spread evenly
  • To complete the trifle, pour the remaining strawberry sauce in the center of your trifle dish and let it spread to the edges
  • Garnish with whole strawberries and/or powdered sugar
