Goal & Objectives
- Learn more about daily accounting tasks and activities by working closely with members of the Accounting team
- Understand the role of finance and accounting in corporate decision-making
- Develop professional skills in communication, teamwork, and problem-solving within the financial industry
- Gain exposure to the agriculture industry
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with transactional accounting tasks for local and international subsidiaries
- Support the accounts payable and receivables process
- Contribute to the month-end closing process and handling general accounting tasks, such as reconciliations
- Participate in basic financial auditing processes, including the verification of financial records and transactions
- Assist in preparing financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements
- Participate in budget-to-actual meetings with department managers
- Create relationships with employees by asking insightful questions and providing a fresh perspective
- Uphold the core values of Wish Farms (Quality, Integrity, Responsiveness) throughout the project
- Research and present solutions and ideas for improvement to management
- Other assigned duties as requested by management

- Gain valuable insights into the operational challenges and strategic considerations of the acccoutning department and management
- Gain experience in various software programs including, Famous, Excel, Planful, and Power BI
- Build interpersonal and communication skills
- Enhance and develop professional skills in the area offinancial reporting
- Gain experience in independently managing time and priorities
- Become more comfortable presenting information in front of groups
Requirements:
- Must be currently enrolled in college degree program related to the project or have recently graduated within the past year
- Understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial principals
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Bilingual Spanish-speaking is highly preferred, but not required
- Well organized with a strong attention to detail
- Committed to meeting deadlines and a professional demeanor
Compensations & Benefits:
Wish Farms values your contribution and would like to compensate you accordingly. This will be a paid internship at the rate of $18-20 per hour.Paychecks will be issued weekly on Wednesdays.

Evaluation:
During your internship project you will receive ongoing coaching and feedback from your manager which will review how well you are contributing, your strengths and areas of focus for advancement. You will have opportunities to report on project status and ask questions. This feedback is meant to assist you in your professional growth. You will receive a formal evaluation and exit interview upon departure of the internship as well. Plus, you will create networking connections along the way that are priceless!
