Ingredients
Berry BBQ Sauce
- 2 cups fresh blackberries
- 2 cups fresh blueberries
- ½ cup sugar
- ¼ cup water
- 1 to 2 cups barbecue sauce
Sliders
- 3 cups cooked pulled pork
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ cup blackberry barbecue sauce, plus more for serving
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 12 pretzel slider buns
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon poppy seeds (optional)
- Coleslaw for topping
Directions
Blackberry BBQ Sauce
- In a large saucepan, combine berries, sugar, and water. Bring to a boil, then simmer uncovered for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in barbecue sauce and cook for another 10–15 minutes until thickened.
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Sliders
- In a saucepan over medium heat, warm the pulled pork with the barbecue sauce and garlic powder, stirring often until thoroughly heated. You can also microwave in 30-second intervals for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F. Slice the slider buns in half and place the bottom halves into a baking dish.
- Spoon the warm pulled pork evenly over the buns. Sprinkle with shredded cheese and cover the dish with foil.
- Bake the bottom halves for 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- In a small bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, garlic powder, and poppy seeds if using. Place the top halves of the buns on a parchment-lined baking sheet and brush with the butter mixture.
- After the first 8 minutes of baking, add the top buns to the oven on a separate rack and toast for 2 minutes.
- Remove both trays from the oven. Uncover the cheesy pork and top with coleslaw. Place the toasted top buns on each slider and slice into individual portions.
- Serve immediately with extra barbecue sauce on the side.
