A fun and festive Thanksgiving craft for kids to reflect on and express what they are “berry” thankful for. That’s what this time of year is all about, isn’t it?
Materials
- Strawberry outline (here)
- Red, orange, brown and multi-colored paper
- Googly eye
- 8-inch yarn piece
- Tape and/or glue
- Scissors
Instructions
Step one: Cut out a strawberry silhouette for the turkey’s body, a neck & head shape, a small orange triangle for a beak, a small red curved shape for the gobble and 7-10 strips from multi-colored paper. About 8.5 inches in length. These will be for the feathers.
Step two: Tape or glue the two ends of each of the paper strips to each other
Step three: Tape or glue these to the back of the strawberry where the turkey’s feathers would be around the body. Do not put them at the very bottom of the strawberry body… the legs will go there!
Step four: Glue the beak, gobble and eye on the turkey head. Attach the head/neck piece to the front middle of the strawberry body.
Step five: Fold the strip of yarn in half and attach to the bottom back side of the strawberry for the legs
Step six: Write what you are berry thankful for on an 8.5-inch paper strip and attach across your berry turkey
Optional- Attach a safety pin or clothes pin to the back to wear it proudly!
Happy Holidays!
